For a comfortable stay, opt for a mid-range hotel and rather than budget ones and do expect to pay around RM100+ for a single room.
The hotels around the Kuah city like City Bayview & Aseania Resort Hotel can be value for money due to it's location.
The period you mentioned is right in the middle of the peak season. Usually you have to book at least 3 ~ 6 months prior to get any hotels there. tintin72 choice of hotels is I believe is good enough to suit your budget.
I would prefer Aseania Hotel cos it is nearer to the beach (not by the beach, mind you) and has a great pool.
