They Really Care About You
INTRODUCTION
Here in Europe Malaysia is somehow suspicious country. It´s far away, Islamic country, not so easy to access than Thailand. Then when I finally arrived to Malaysia after a long difficult flight I was more than surprised. Malaysia is modern industrial society on it´s way to developed country. Education level is nowadays pretty well and openness of the society promises a bright future. If the flight connections to KL from here could be simpler, I"m sure that Malaysia could be a favorite tourist spot for Scandinavian tourists.
GETTING TO/AROUND
While you are in Langkawi, there"s only two real options how to travel around main island.
1) You can rent a car or motorbike
2) you can take a taxi.
We took a taxi a couple of times and we had positive experiences. Cars were air-Conditioned and after the price was negotiated, there were no question about how much. Drivers speak pretty well English. The price has to be agreed before you go inside. Some have taximeters, but somehow I found better to negotiate price before.

Hotel Casa Del Mar's restaurant is a definitely worth of visiting. While nightlife in Langkawi is quiet and the main fun is dining, this is the ideal spot. Whether you want to dine at beach or a fresco, it's up to you. Palm trees are beautifully lit up and the ambience in there is the synonym for romance... The food is a little bit pricey, but the quality of food and service makes it feel very cheap.
Favorite Dish: Definitely try Chef's tasting menu, which is 6 course menu. Everything what I tasted there was excellent. But be careful, you have to have room for desserts also, they are so delicious. Especially "chocolate soft centre"!
