Resort Presents a Glimpse Into Langkawi’s Exotic Wildlife & Nature
Sheraton Langkawi Beach Resort has been home to some of the exotic flora & fauna that are found on the Island of Langkawi such as the Flying Lemur, Long Tailed Macaque, Dusky Leaf Monkey, Hornbill and the Small Clawed Otter. They have inhabited the area harmoniously with the resort, which is credited to its location and the efforts of the resort in conserving the natural environment.
Sheraton Langkawi Beach Resort is nestled amidst 38 acres of tropical rainforest, with its 231 rooms and suites sprawled spaciously in the compound. All guest rooms and suites are built with natural hardwoods and chalets are designed in traditional Malaysian architecture. Upon checking in, guests are driven to their chalets or rooms in a “Safari Rideâ€, a delightful feature that has been well received by guests, old and young alike. Guests have also been frequently spotted gazing up into trees, observing and taking photographs of the Resort"s exotic inhabitants.
“The Resort was specially designed to blend into the natural environment, so as to give guests a truly memorable Malaysian experience, and to have minimal impact on nature at the same time. This setting allows guests to have a closer look at the exotic flora and fauna of Langkawi and Malaysia,†says Mr. Bipan Kapur, General Manager of Sheraton Langkawi Beach Resort.
Dining in the three main restaurants of the resort: Karma Jaya, Spice Trader and Captain"s Grill is an experience on its own as well. Karma Jaya, an all day-dining restaurant surrounded by a lush green landscape, offers a large buffet breakfast spread, an extensive a la carte menu and daily themed dinners. Two resident cats, Tom and Princess, provide interesting company at Karma Jaya as well. The Spice Trader, which specializes in a variety of traditional Asian cuisine, is a tree-top restaurant that attracts the magnificent Hornbills in the early evenings. Perched on stilts, the Captain"s Grill offers a generous view of the Andaman Sea while guests enjoy a mesmerizing evening of grilled fresh seafood and meats.
