Ayurveda means “knowledge of life”

It is a 5,000 year old system of health care and preventive medicine from India. Through Ayurveda it is possible to understand emotions, feelings, moods, body shapes, and cravings more fully and begin healthier and more satisfying lives. According to Ayurveda, the mind exerts the deepest influence on the body, and freedom from sickness depends upon contacting our own awareness, bringing it into balance, and then extending that balance to the body.

At Indian Ayurvedic Massage Center we provide free consultation and will recommend treatment with massage and oils to help you to correct imbalances achieve improved health and wellbeing.

In addition to general wellbeing it is possible to treat problems such as migraine, headache, mental depression, insomnia and pain in the joints.

Our massage and treatments incorporate ancient skills handed down from forefathers to sons over thousands of years. These can be enjoyed as part of a treatment course or for simple pleasure and wellbeing:

• UDWARTHANAM - An ayurvedic body scrub softens and exfoliates dead skin cells leaving lustrous glow to the skin.
• THAILA DHARA - Known also as the third eye drip, an ancient head treatment where a mixture of soothing herbal oils are slowly and steadily poured over the head and forehead from a hanging earthen vessel.
• NJAVARAKIZHI - A Herbal Dab with cotton bags steeped in warm milk or herbal oil with a mixture of ancient herbs
• HERBAL BATH - A very popular bath to relieve excess bodily heat, sinusitis, improves blood circulation and detoxify the body.
• ABHYANGA - An hour of full body massage with warm herbal oils followed by a hot herbal bath.
