Langkawi International Nature Challenge 2004
The Challenge was first mooted by our patron Dato Abdul Aziz Hj Sheikh Fadzir and several Malaysians to combine adventure and sports as an interesting way to help promote tourism in Langkawi. For many years, Langkawi has not been only a top holiday destination but also as a sports venue and to this day, various international events are being organised annually to woo more visitors of all interests to this island.
Internationally acclaimed sporting events like Le Tour de Langkawi and the Ironman series proved that. So did the Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace ( LIMA ) and the Langkawi Regatta.
Our natural resources have always been and continues to be a source of wonder to all nature lovers and this is proven by the various eco tourism activities that are available here. Even so, there are still vast areas here that are not visited or accessible mainly due to the difficult terrain. LINC 04 hopes to change that by providing local and foreign extreme sports fans an adventurous and challenging avenue to explore and really appreciate Langkawi's wondrous, rugged beauty and in doing so, we hope to preserve that landscape for future generations.
WHAT MAKES LINC 04 UNIQUE.
First adventure race in Malaysia that covers 14 islands flagging off from the biggest island in the country. The toughest course in the region with the 36 hours non stop endurance race in the final stage. The race course will include areas that has never been explored or trailed. It will take you through the oldest jungle in the world and across one of the oldest rock formation known to man.
