P&O Cruises Unveils New Asia Program
P&O Cruises is offering travellers the easiest and most affordable way to discover some of Asia's most exciting destinations, with its first ever season of seven-night cruises from Singapore.
The company's new Asia brochure reveals a choice of 33 seven-night cruises sailing from Singapore on Pacific Sky between February and October next year.
Each cruise features up to six exotic ports of call in Malaysia , Thailand and Singapore, with destinations ranging from the idyllic island of Koh Samui to the bustling city of Bangkok.
The 33-cruise season is substantially longer than the nine-cruise Asian season first flagged by P&O Cruises earlier this year, and reflects the company's confidence in the popularity of an Australian ship sailing in Asian waters.
Discounts of up to 30 per cent for early bookings made before June 30, 2005, mean Australians can enjoy a seven-night cruise from A$1085 per person, including all main meals, onboard accommodation and entertainment.
"Pacific Sky's Asian cruises would have to be the easiest, most relaxing and most affordable way for Australians to see the hottest destinations in Asia," said P&O Cruises Managing Director Gavin Smith.
"If you can't decide between a holiday in Phuket, Langkawi, or Singapore, then you can see them all on one of our Asia cruises, while enjoying the fun of life onboard Pacific Sky. Travellers don't have to worry about the hassle of flying between cities and changing hotels - all they need to do is unpack once, then unwind."
Mr Smith said Pacific Sky would be tailored for Australians, with an onboard currency in Australian dollars, providing the ideal way to combine an Asian holiday with all the fun and comfort of a cruise.
On offer in the new brochure are two alternating seven-night return itineraries from Singapore via the west coast of the Malay Peninsula to Thailand and Malaysia or the east coast.
The west coast itinerary features visits to historic Malacca, bustling Kuala Lumpur, idyllic Langkawi, the resorts of Phuket and the colonial outpost of Penang before returning to the shopping mecca of Singapore . Cruises along the east coast visit beautiful Koh Samui, tranquil Kuantan and culture-rich Bangkok.
Passengers can also combine the two seven-night cruises back-to-back to create a memorable 14-day voyage visiting all nine ports.
The seven-day cruises from Singapore are available from A$1085 per person in a complete four-berth cabin and from A$16 83 per person for a complete twin-share while the 14-day option is available from A$2170 for a complete four-berth and from A$3367 for a complete twin-share.
Also on offer is a special 16-night positional voyage aboard Pacific Sky from Melbourne to Singapore , departing February 9, 2006, and available from A$2151 per person in a four-berth cabin and A$3325 per person twin-share. This voyage can also be combined with the ship's maiden seven-day cruise from Singapore on February 25, 2006, creating a grand 23-night journey through south-east Asia.
Based in Australia since 2000, P&O Cruises' 46,000-ton Pacific Sky carries 1550 passengers and features two pools, two restaurants, alfresco steakhouse, 24-hour pizzeria, showlounge, cinema, nine bars and lounges, indoor and outdoor nightclub, casino, library and two kids' clubs.
