Force of Nature Concert: Simply WOW!
It was a fitting finale to the largest-grossing concert in Malaysia.
A star-studded party was held after the Force of Nature for Tsunami Aid concert early this morning.
Many of the performing and non-performing celebrities and local dignitaries were to have attended the party which was held at a specially-erected tent alongside the Putra Stadium.
But, due to the concert running much longer than expected, many decided to leave immediately after the main event.
Director and trustee of the Force of Nature Foundation Kamaluddin Abdullah was, however, ecstatic.
"I think it went very well. We are extremely overjoyed with the support of Malaysians who stayed on till the end of the concert, despite it ending a few hours later than scheduled," he said at the party.
The sold-out concert, he said, was an encouraging sign of Malaysian generosity.
Force of Nature Campaign committee member Tony Fernandes said:
"The crowd was just really great and the artistes enjoyed themselves tremendously.
"In fact, they added songs to their repertoire that was not planned because of the vibes they received from the crowd."
This, he said, was one of the reasons why the concert ended at 2.30am.
Though a little quieter before the concert ended, the after-show party heated up as soon as stars and guests from the concert filed in and joined the party.
Among the stars who attended the party were Shawn Stockman of Boyz II Men, all the members of the Blackeyed Peas, Joey Fatone from 'N Sync as well as local celebrities such as actor Hans Isaac, deejay Jason Lo and actress Sazlini Falak.
Also seen was CIMB Berhad director Datuk Nazir Razak.
The Black Eyed Peas exhibited their usual boundless energy and were the highlight of the party.
Band member Will.i.am, who went to Banda Aceh last Tuesday with the Prime Minister's Special Envoy for Tsunami Aid and Assistance Tan Sri Razali Ismail, was pleased with the response from the audience during the concert.
"It was great to see so many Malaysians having a good time for a worthy cause," he said.
Sazlini, who was at the concert as well, said she had a really good time.
"I shouted myself hoarse," she said, adding that the party was a fitting end to a fantastic night.
Post-concert party guest G. Mahadevan said that he really liked the party which had an eclectic decor.
"I was lucky to get the chance to attend the party," said the 28-year-old engineer.
"How many people get the chance to rub shoulders with international celebrities?" he said.
The stadium was given a make-over for the exclusive party where only the biggest stars were invited.
There were cherry blossom trees, throw cushions and plush sofas that greeted guests as they walked into the canopy.
Many twinkling lights and low red glow adorned the walls of the entry area to set the mood for a night of glamour and fantasy.
A bar provided a free flow of drinks and guests were also treated to a free-flow food, including a fountain of melted chocolate.
The main area was dotted with curtained sofas along the walls, chandeliers hanging from the canopied ceiling and candles twinkling on open shelves providing an Arabian Nights-feel.
A mini stage and a dance floor were set at the end of the room to allow for after-concert gyrations.
Mingling with guests were tall willowy models.
