LTdL Stage 4: The Records, 10 Years On
After 10 years of existence, the Telekom Malaysia Le Tour de Langkawi (LTdL) has its own set of statistics to be proud of, with Japan's Koji Fukushima becoming the latest addition.
Koji yesterday became the first rider from his country to win a stage, on par with riders from France and Hong Kong who also have one stage wins in LTdL.
Leading that statistic is Italy, who up to yesterday have won 35 stages in LTdL to date, while Australia are second with 17 stage wins.
Other countries who have won stages include Canada and Brazil, who have won five stages each; Switzerland, Denmark and South Africa with three stage wins; and, Argentina with two wins.
Which brings the number of stages contested after nine years and three stages in the 10th edition of the Tour, to 104 thus far.
Most worrying of all is the lack of a Malaysian name among the list of 104 winners to date, a duck which still looks unlikely to be broken.
