SuperStar Gemini Begins Malaysian Season from Next Week
SuperStar Gemini, one of the vessels in the Star Cruises fleet, will ply Malaysian waters for six months from next week, with Port Klang its homeport until March 2005. Its normal homeport is Taiwan.
Star Cruises' vice-president of corporate communications, Jane Poh, based in Port Klang, told Bernama yesterday that it was the first seasonal deployment of SuperStar Gemini to the Straits of Malacca.
Its deployment also coincided with the year-end Malaysian school holidays and festivities.
SuperStar Gemini starts its Malaysian season from Oct 26, offering a three-day two-night Port Klang-Langkawi-Port Klang cruise and a four-day three-night Port Klang-Phuket-Port Klang cruise.
The Langkawi cruise departs every Wednesday, and the Phuket cruise every Sunday.
The 19,093 gross tonne SuperStar Gemini has an average cruising speed of 18.4 knots, and capacity of 800 passengers. During its Malaysian stint, it will serve alongside its sister vessel, SuperStar Virgo.
