Langkawi Sea Floor Being Remapped
Royal Malaysian Navy ship KD Perantau is remapping the sea floor off Langkawi following the Dec 26 tsunami.
The hydrographic survey, which began on March 31 and is due to be completed by the end of this month, will provide information to update maritime maps for ships plying the waters around Langkawi, KD Perantau executive officer Lt-Kdr Najhan Mohd Said said yesterday.
He said the survey findings would be submitted to the Defence Ministry's hydrography division.
KD Perantau, which has a crew of 150 officers and men, is commanded by Kdr Nasir Fadzil.
