Malaysia To Host Asia Cup 2004 in December
Malaysia will host the final round of the Asian Cycling Confederation (ACC) Track Asia Cup 2004 in Kuala Lumpur this Dec 10-12. ACC president Datuk Seri Darshan Singh said this was the first time Malaysia was hosting the event.
"The event was originally scheduled for last year but due to the severe acute respiratory syndrome, the organising committee was advised by the Ministry of Health to postpone it to another date," he said here Tuesday.
Darshan, who is also organising chairman, said invitations had been sent to ACC members in 39 countries and he was confident that top Asian track cyclists would participate in the three-day event.
The first round of the Cup is in Bangkok from Dec 6-8 and the final round will be at the Kuala Lumpur Velodrome in Cheras.
