Internet Visa For Chinese Tourists To Malaysia
Chinese tourists to Malaysia can now apply for their visas via the Internet, a move aimed at encouraging more Chinese to holiday in Malaysia. The process, which is being carried out on a trial basis in Shanghai, will be expanded eventually. Malaysian Ambassador to China Datuk Abdul Majid Khan said the "I-Visa" project would eventually be available in Guangzhou and Beijing.
Under the project, Chinese tourists need only to submit their visa applications online before turning up at the Malaysian consulate in Shanghai to have it endorsed. Meanwhile, Malaysia Airlines had increased its flights to Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou, while talks were being held for direct flights between Kuala Lumpur and Chengdu.
