The Beach Negombo, Colombo, Sri Lanka
Through an initiative spearheaded by PATA Chairman Mr Ram Kohli, the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) is organising the first South Asia Tourism Forum (SATF), to take place at The Beach Negombo in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
The Forum aims to:
Take stock of the current state-of-play of the tourism industry in South Asia
Understand the current level of intra-regional travel and the potential for growth
Underline the importance of civil aviation as a vehicle for growth
Highlight the need for public-private sector co-operation in formulating consistent and growth-friendly policies
Highlight the importance of South Asia`s abundant human resources and identify areas of need in human resource development
Generate opportunities for South Asian destinations to be collectively branded and promoted (either as a whole group or in various combinations)
Format
Through a series of interactive panel discussions, invited experts and registered delegates will have the opportunity to `create` a new and re-invigorated landscape for travel and tourism in the region.
PATA-member industry leaders from South Asia will share their perspectives on charting a new direction for travel and tourism for the region.
Who Should Attend?
Marketers, strategic planners, researchers, communicators, decision-makers from NTOs, airlines, hotels, hotel management companies and hotel associations, travel agents and travel agent associations, academics, educators and students of tourism.
