MAS Resumes KL-Fukuoka Route
Malaysia Airlines (MAS) announced the resumption of its Kuala Lumpur-Fukuoka-Kuala Lumpur service beginning Nov 9, 2004 after it was temporarily suspended since May 15, 2003.
The national airline would operate a thrice-weekly flights between the two cities using an Airbus A330-300 aircraft with 44 Business and 250 Economy Class seats, it said in a statement here Saturday.
With a total weekly capacity of 882 seats in each direction, flight MH 82 departs KL at 0100 hours every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday to reach Fukuoka at 0800 hours the same day.
The return flight MH 83 also departs Fukuoka at 1130 hours the same day and arrives KL at 1700 hours.
Meanwhile, MAS operates 12 weekly direct flights between Tokyo and KL, three weekly direct flights between Nagoya and KL and five weekly direct flights between Osaka and KL.
The Tokyo-KL return service is operated using a 278-seater Boeing 777-200 ER aircraft whilst a 229-seater Airbus A330-200 is used between the remaining two city pairs.In addition, it operates a twice-weekly service between Tokyo and KL, transiting Kota Kinabalu in each direction.
Early this year, it added two weekly services between Osaka and KL via Kota Kinabalu.By next year, its Nagoya service will be operating from the Chubu Centrair International Airport near Nagoya, scheduled on Feb 17, 2005.
