Get On With Project
The Perlis government wants the company awarded the Kuala Sangland land reclamation project to get on with the job.
Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Shahidan Kassim said it should `stop talking and focus on completing the reclamation work.`
`After they have proven they are capable of completing the work only then will we discuss the bridge,` he said adding that the contract was awarded two years ago.
He was commenting on a statement by Kamarudin Hussin, chairman of Juruelit Sdn Bhd, the company awarded the contract, about plans to build a 48km-long bridge from Langkawi to Perlis.
Kamarudin had said the bridge would generate growth for Kedah, Langkawi and Perlis.
`In Perlis, we have yet to discuss it (plans to build the bridge),` he said after officiating a ceremony in which 13 Kampung Guar Halban Umno branch members went bald to celebrate Shahidan's victory in the recent party elections.
