HOSPITAL

Modern hospital with some specialist services. Capable of handling most emergencies, but patients needing more advanced care can be transported 24 hours a day by helicopter to Alor Setar Hospital on the mainland. Note that blood transfusions are free, and visitors wishing to do some good can donate at the hospital's Blood Bank.

Near international airport, it's the closest hospital to Rebak Marina and Langkasuka Boat Club. Can deal with most accident and general needs.
KLINIKS
Apart from hospitals and private clinics, there are rural clinics, known at Klinik Desa, scattered throughout Langkawi and on the other populated islands of Pulau Tuba and Pulau Dayang Bunting. Staffed by nurses, and visited by doctors on a weekly basis, these clinics mostly provide maternal and child health care, but will treat minor injuries. In outlying areas, ask locals for the location of the nearest Klinik Desa.
