Themed Dream Holidays, Dream Bargains, the Malaysia International Travel Mart 2005 (MITM 2005), involving some 150 organisations, is set to draw about 80,000 visitors over two days from June 18.
The travel fest will open from 10am to 10pm at The Mines International Exhibition & Convention Centre.
The MCTA will jointly hold the fair with the Malaysian Association of Bumiputra Tours & Travel (Bumitra Malaysia) and the Malaysian Indian Tours & Travel Association (MITA).
Apart from holiday packages to places such as Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe, Iran, Morocco and the Caribbean, Foo said the fair would promote domestic travel with the help of Tourism Malaysia, state tourism promotion boards and tour agencies.
Visitors, he said, would be treated to dance performances and presentations to reflect the cultural heritage of Malaysia and the international destinations featured at the fair.
To stimulate tourist arrivals in areas affected by the tsunami disaster last month, Foo said the organisers are offering a free booth each to representatives from Banda Aceh, Phuket, Tamil Nadu, Langkawi and Penang.
